The Check Ride is designed to reinforce safe riding skills and behaviours. This course is fully supported and subsidised by MAIB for those that are returning to ride and haven't ridden for a number of years. Participants must have a full and current Motor Cycle Licence to undertake this course. MAIB are subsidising $150.00 towards the cost of the course for approved applicants.

Description

It is a half-day course that includes an off-road review of braking, steering and low speed manoeuvring skills, and an on-road coaching ride on a pre-determined route which will include multi-lane highways, narrow country roads, shopping centres, and hills and bends.

Participants will join with novice riders to undertake the Check Ride course

Entry Requirements

Participants must have a full and current Motor Cycle Licence to undertake this course.

 

Safety:  You must have ‘full skin coverage” ie long pants, long sleeve shirt or jacket and sturdy shoes or boots, or you cannot participate in your course.

Trousers/Jeans with holes are not permitted - you will be turned away.

 

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN HELMETS***  & GLOVES & ANY OTHER PPE EQUIPMENT (IF WET) TO MINIMISE THE RISK OF VIRAL INFECTIONS.

Please bring your own water bottle and pen etc  for hygiene purposes.

** All participants must wear an approved helmet that meets the Australian Standard AS1698 and EU standards (UNECE22.05) in accordance with the Tasmanian Road Rules 2009  (must display a sticker to indicate this) during the Course.

Please note that the course will proceed regardless of weather. Trainer discretion will apply in Winter.

 

Use of your own Motorcycle; you must bring proof of registration and 3rd Party insurance on the day.
